99 Red Balloons - Or actually 200+ Multicoloured Balloons

I finally got a good night sleep last night, there were no raccoons partying outside my bedroom window, and I kept my coffee intake to a minimum yesterday. I also have a feeling that carrying crates of beer from my friends car to the office, along with 26lbs of ice also helped to wear me out.

Every 3rd Thursday of the month, we have a party in my building at work. Each floor takes a turn to host the party. Its funded by employees, and works quite like a pot luck. This was the 3rd one that my floor has hosted, and for some reason, its always me who gets involved in the party planning. Not that I am complaining, I actually quite enjoy party planning.

We seem to have lots of parties at work these days, I think a lot of it stems from the fact that you don't have to drink to work here, but it really does help. As well as having parties, we also like to do fun stuff for peoples birthdays. The most recent was for one of my team mates. He was out of the office on the day of his birthday, so we decided it would be fun to fill his cubicle with balloons.

As you can see, we take our work very seriously indeed.

  11. Just look at ol' Maxy strutin' and smilin' ! You ladies are making Maxy MELT.

(You know--the popsicle story...) Admit it, that wasn't so bad. Oh it was, was it. Ok, no more popsicle stories.)

  12. I know, Maxy is such an adorable little pup.

Could well be that, that rolling stone papa met my mum 20 something years ago. That would actually explain a lot.

  13. the popsicle story was OK, although I normally refer to them as lolly pops.

  16. You never told us what a Tranny does. You threatend to, but you never did.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I guess that's appropriate been as this post is about work.

Tranny = Max's word for Transition Management. I actually have 2 jobs at the moment, that is one, and the other is Business Systems Analyst.

The Transition Management part involves working with groups as they go through changes, making sure they are aware of what those changes are, and how they'll be impacted by them. Its fun, as I get to meet lots of new people, I also get to listen and talk alot.

  18. good change of subject by the way, from lolly pops to tranny...

  19. Well, don't think I'm not listening. Thank you for telling. Now back to that lollipop thing. Stop. May I say something first? You are confusing me.

    Ok

  20. I haven't had a lollypop in a long time. I might have to grab one on my way home from work.

    ReplyDelete
  21. oh actually, popsicles aren't lollypops, they are ice lollies. Lollypops are indeed those dum dum type things.

No wonder you are confused Max, I am completely confused.

  35. Over 37 comments! I'm impressed. Carolyn is very popular indeed. Soon she will forget Max entirely. :(

Good morning, Caroline! How are we feeling today?

Help me put out the flame wars today, ok? I have decided that nothing will make us respond to the Canadian llama herder today, no matter what. Don't suck me in again, evil one. :)

(The deleted posts where the two I wrote to Briget on your blog. She would have to be psychic to get those two! btw, she came back later, yet again, and responded to your last comment last night.)
