We Are Family

Well here I am again, stuck not knowing what to write about. It's been a little while since I was here, however, I know by now, that once my fingers hit the keyboard something will come.

I went to a(nother) happy hour last night, to meet a friend of mine who was in town for the week from The Netherlands. It was great to see him again, and there was a good turn out. We had quite a lot of fun. We met up at a Brew Pub, which of course only served beer and wine. I really enjoy drinking beer, but it doesn't like me so much. It normally messes with my allergies... but last night it did not. So after a few beers I was having a pretty good time.

This afternoon, I am planning on heading down to the Oregon Brew Fest at the riverfront. I volunteered at the event a couple of years ago, and still have a bunch of beer tokens left over... so they'll be getting all used up today and tomorrow. I just hope my allergies continue to stay at away, so I can enjoy it.

On another note, my mum just sent me such a lovely message. I am going to be over there for 3 weeks within 3 weeks, and I am really looking forward to it. My mum, is also looking forward to "taking care of me". Even though I am 29, I still like to be taken care of by my mum. Of course that doesn't get to happen very often as I only see her once or twice a year... but still... I love my family oh so much, and I really enjoy it when I am over there with my mum, dad and brother.

See, I knew I'd be able to write a post, once I got started :)

  1. Yes. You moved your fingers and something came. I knew you could do it. You seem happy today. Good. :)

  3. Mums are the same the world over, believe me. My sons are probably both older than you are, but given a chance I love to look after them. Not so much when they were still living at home of course - little peasants.

  4. Big peasants, I should have said.

  5. hahaha, my brother still lives at home, he's much younger than me, but he'll be leaving for college next year. It's going to be a huge change for my mum.

  6. 'Mums are the same the world over. How true. But then so are other kinds of flowers as well.

PS- Caroline, ask A. to do a guest post for you. Your traffic will double. Mine did. She has a great following. And she seems to like you.

'Course she's lived in the NE of England as well. So she knows how well you folks make fish & chips.

So tease her with some home made fish and chips next month when you are home, and she will do a guest post for you. Trust me. Ummm.... of course she doesn't live in your neck of the woods anymore.

Never mind. I'm mostly talking to myself anyway. Saves space on my own blog. I just come here sometimes to think. :)

  7. You are welcome to come here and think when ever you wish maxie boy.

As for asking A. to do a guest post for me, you might be on to something there. You yourself may be getting a request too, when I am travelling next month... but I am trying to decide if I trust you or not yet... :)

  8. What *IS* Max talking about? Don't trust him with anything Caroline. He's just told the world, the whole world, I'm wizened. How dare he?

  11. Hehe that is great to hear that you are having a good time and that your allergies are staying at bay.

And an interesting thought, isn't it funny that no matter how old we get, we are never too old to have our mums take care of us ;).

  12. Just in case my tirade against Max sounded as though I was refusing to do a guest post, that wasn't the intention at all. I'd be happy to help out if you have a problem, but (and it's a big but) Max is talking out of some orifice other than his mouth. I have no "following" as he puts it, and his traffic didn't double. I have no idea what his motivation for saying that was, probably just his usual stirring up trouble.

I helped him out and God only knows why. I've been regretting it, but I'll certainly help you out if you need it. You only need to ask. Oh, and tell me what to say :)

  13. Yeah, I have learnt in the few months that I have known max, that he likes to stir things up a bit...

I take most things he says with a pinch of salt :)
