Rocky Raccoon Dead or Alive Poll

In my feeble attempt to get to the bottom of this, as me and the wbf are still discussing it. I am in no means attempting to prove him wrong, or myself right, I am really just curious what people think.

  1. My take is alive:
Now somewhere in the black mountain hills of dakota
There lived a young boy named rocky raccoon
And one day his woman ran off with another guy
Hit young rocky in the eye, rocky didnt like that
He said Im gonna get that boy
So one day he walked into town
Booked himself a room in the local saloon

Rocky raccoon checked into his room
    Only to find gideons bible
Rocky had come equipped with a gun
To shoot off the legs of his rival
His rival it seems had broken his dreams
By stealing the girl of his fancy
Her name was magil and she called herself lil
But everyone knew her as nancy

Now she and her man who called himself dan
Were in the next room at the hoe down
Rocky burst in and grinning a grin
He said danny boy this is a showdown
But daniel was hot - he drew first and shot
And rocky collapsed in the corner

Now the doctor came in stinking of gin
And proceeded to lie on the table
He said rocky you met your match
And rocky said, doc its only a scratch
And Ill be better, Ill be better doc as soon as I am able

Now rocky raccoon he fell back in his room
    Only to find gideons bible
Gideon checked out and he left it no doubt
To help with good rockys revival

  2. I am pleased you agree canucklehead, although I am wondering if your agreeing with me is purely a ploy to get me to switch sides.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt for now though, and assume that you are being sincere.

  3. The Gideon’s are a sect of the church that leaves Bible’s in hotels for patrons to read while they stay. Seriously, the next time you’re in a hotel, look for The Bible in the nightstand – more times than not, it will have been left by the Gideon’s…

And the response, as far as I’m concerned, doesn’t get to the point of living or dying (remember the male ego when interpreting “only a scratch”). No the lines after that with “Checked out” and “Revival” are still the keys…although I do like the humiliated angle a little…so if you want to think he lived, then he lived humiliated and with no girl…also a pretty happy ending…

Go on, you know you want to...
