I really can't stay - Baby it's cold outside
I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry
My father will be pacing the floor - Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry - Beautiful, please don't hurry
Well maybe just a half a drink more - Put some music on while I pour
I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry
My father will be pacing the floor - Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry - Beautiful, please don't hurry
Well maybe just a half a drink more - Put some music on while I pour
I love that song. But where in the world did a modern shy retiring little geordie girl ever hear of 1940s American pop stuff like this? Or is is just cold outside? :) :)
ReplyDeleteI believe it was actually 1939 (So technically the 30's).
ReplyDeleteI love all things retro, you should know that by now. Not sure where I first heard it, but I've been listening to the Christmas radio channel the past few weeks, and they've been playing it quite a lot. I just love that song.
It makes me think of someone special.
Not so cold outside now.
ReplyDeleteHere in Oregon it is :)
